Initiation in Ram Krishna Mission

 INITIATION IN RAM KRISHNA MISSION

You can approach the nearest branch and request it. They will ask you to fill up a form. You have to be familiar with the teachings of the holy trio. They will ask what you have read.

The President and Vice presidents give initiation. They visit all branches from time to time.

When they come, they will inform all the people who registered and give initiation in the form of Ramakrishna Mantra along with the rules and procedure of how to do Japa and meditation.

They will give you a booklet with all the details of japa.

The branches will also conduct lectures on how to practice Japa and for clearing doubts for initiated devotees from time to time.

The mantra given will be Ramakrishna Mantra(It is to be kept secret). No other mantra will be given(in India atleast).

The method of practice will be to perform mental worship of your diksha guru(one who initiates you) followed by worship of your personal deity or SRK depending the lineage of the guru who initiates you. Then Japa of the mantra is performed.

The Japa has to be performed in the morning and evening. Those who are used to repeating Gayatri can perform Gayatri japa before RK mantra Japa.

Clear your doubts beforehand by talking to the guru or his assistants. Some gurus will personally interview you before initiation.

I don't understand why and how my answer had collapsed. But honestly this mantra had been openly chanted in Sri Ramakrishna Mission ashrams. Therefore it definitely seems like you can chant it, while you wait for your formal initiation (if you are so inclined to take diksha. Or just chant it.)

"Om Namo Bhagavatey Ramakrishnaya"

I've also heard this :

"Om Aim Sarva-deva-devi-swarupaya Sri Ramakrishnaya Swaha"

I don't understand the scary forcing into taking diksha. If you love the deity and are respectfully chanting his/her mantra with faith, the Deity himself will take care of you, or give you formal initiation if you even require it. Have strength! Rely only on God and don't be afraid to take risks.
